CATx KVM Extender, LR – VGA, USB HID

Our well proven CATx Micro USB Extender series has been further developed. Four new USB models enable you now to extend VGA video, USB keyboard, USB mouse and 5 peripherals (USB HID) over a single Cat5/5e/6/7 cable.

Crystal clear video over a long distance
Very precise video circuits allow resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 (U-XGA) at 60Hz over 200 meter or 1280 x 1024 (S-XGA) at 75Hz up to 300m. All models feature a true DDC support with DDC emulation and DDC pass through. Thus the installation is really plug-and-play. No display will stay black, no computer fails booting due to lack of EDID information.

USB Human Interface Device (HID)
On the remote side (receiver unit) a 4-port USB hub connects to USB-keyboard and USB-mouse. Daisy chaining an external USB hub allows the connection of up to seven USB HID devices including keyboard and mouse can be added to the system. It is even possible to attach multiple keyboards and mice in one application.

Investment protection
These USB KVM Extenders are a reliable investment in the future, Transmitter as well as receiver feature a Flash ROM and can be easily up-dated with the newest
keyboard and mouse protocols. These software up-dates are a free service from Black Box with no costs or obligation for you. Just download the required software from our website or ask you Free Tech Support for assistance if wanted.

Local monitoring
All transmitter units allow the connection of a local video close to the computer for monitoring. With a simple hot-key command you may even switch to the private mode leaving the remote video dark. A useful feature for maintenance or other processes you don't want to be surveyed by the remote user.

Power and Installation
The transmitter is powered via the USB interface and requires no external power supply, even though the option is there. The receiver requires an external power supply that comes already included in the delivery. The installation is simple plug-and-play. The units are shapely designed in a desktop housing but using the optional rack mount kit up to 3 units may also be mounted into 1U of a 19" rack or cabinet.

Options and applications

Single-VGA USB CATx KVM Extender (ACU6001A)
This is the standard option for the extension of VGA Video and up to 7 USB HID devices incl. keyboard and mouse over a single CATx link up to 300 meter. Use this kit if you like to extend your USB console from the computer for a convenient working atmosphere while your PC is situated in a safe air-conditioned computer room.

Single-VGA USB CATx KVM Extender with serial and audio (ACU6022A)
This extender kit equals the standard option but supports in addition the transmission of serial data and audio. Use this model if you need to attach touch screens and/or speakers to your system or if you want or use this kit in a Digital signage application.

Dual-VGA USB CATx KVM Extender (ACU6201A)
This extender kit equals the standard option ACU6001A but features in addition a second VGA video channel over a separate CATx link. Of course both video channels can be selectively monitored on the computer side. This kit is ideal if you work with modern computers with two graphics outputs.

Dual-VGA USB CATx KVM Extender with serial and audio (ACU6222A)
Like ACU6201 this model extends two VGA signals as well as up to 7 USB HID devices including keyboard and mouse using only 2 CATx links. In addition transparent RS232 (6 signals) up to 19.2 Kbps and stereo audio are transmitted on the video links. Use this kit for computers with 2 VGA video outputs in line with speakers and touch screens or other applications that require the transfer of serial data.
